Julian Mateus is a passionate and hardworking artist. Currently based out of Florida, he loves creating artwork for film, games, and written works and helping to bring those fictional worlds to life.

In 1990 he was born in Bogota, Colombia and arrived in Canada at 7 years old with his parents who wanted a better future for him and his brother. 5 years later They moved to Florida, where he now lives.

Julian always had a passion for drawing that began at an early age growing up in the 90's. Seeing work by artists like Syd Mead and movies like Star Wars, Bladerunner, and Lord of the Rings inspired him to keep creating art and study filmmaking. Since graduating from Full Sail in 2010 he has been creating artwork and sets for film, game and comic book projects.

-Create a two-page spread illustration for the short story “Z28” to be printed in an issue of F(r)iction.
-Worked with COO and art director to create different concepts for the final illustration.
-Delivered WIP images for direction and revisions throughout the project, meeting all deadlines.
